Duke and Duchess of Cambridge sport tans and smiles for first Wimbledon appearance
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrived at Wimbledon on Tuesday afternoon to watch the second week of the famous tennis tournament unfold.
The royal couple, who were accompanied by the Chairman of the All England Club Ian Hewitt, looked relaxed and tanned in Centre Court’s Royal Boxas they watched the men's singles quarter-final tennis match between Novak Djokovic and Jannik Sinner on Tuesday.
The pair were animated as they completely engrossed themselves in the high-octane match between the world number one, Djokovic, and the Italian 20-year-old number 10 seed, Sinner.
Royal reports suggest that the couple had planned to forego the Royal Box in Centre Court for the rest of the afternoon, instead opting to support Britain’s Cameron Norrie as he plays Belgium’s David Goffin in their quarter final match on Court One, but the gripping Centre Court match had them tied to their seats.

Prince William, and Kate Middleton, both 40, were also seen chatting away with fellow attendees of the Royal Box in between sets. The couple had what looked like a jovial conversation with comedian David Walliams and his mother, Kathleen Williams.
The duchess, who is the royal patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in South London, wore a vintage-style blue polka dot dress for the occasion, accessorising with a deep green and purple Wimbledon bow that carries a special significance.

The green and purple bow, which are the official colours of the All England Club, is only allowed to be worn by a particular set of people high up in the organisation.
Those allowed to wear these colours are the patron (the Duchess of Cambridge), the president, committee of management, vice presidents, and four members of executive staff for the Wimbledon club.
The duchess has never been quiet about her love of tennis, playing the game most of her life – and even getting lessons with none other than 20-time grand slam winner, and personal friend of the Cambridges, Roger Federer – so it's no surprise that she has taken her role seriously.

The mother-of-three pinned the bow on top of her Alessandra Rich blue spotted dress. She previously wore the same midi dress, which features a cinched-in waist that highlights her toned silhouette, at a Kensington street party over the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee weekend.
Kate wore a pair of pearl drop earrings, and chose a pair of Finlay tortoiseshell sunglasses when the sun came out over SW19.
