Duchess of Cambridge floors fans with 'Top Gun' dress: 'A supermodel and queen'
Senior members of the Royal Family have been amping up their public appearances of late in the lead up to the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in June, and the latest occasion was a glamorous affair as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge walked the red carpet for the London premiere of Top Gun: Maverick on Thursday evening.
Kate, 40, stunned in a monochrome off-the-shoulder gown as she greeted fans alongside the red carpet in Leicester Square.
The chic, classic black-and-white design by Roland Mouret highlighted the duchess’ toned physique with its figure-hugging style and bardot-esque off-the-shoulder neckline.
The Top Gun: Maverick red carpet marked one of the few times the duchess has shown her shoulders at an event, but the glamorous occasion certainly called for upping the ante, and fans are in complete agreement that Kate definitely delivered.
“All I have to say is WOW!” wrote one fan on Twitter, whilst another wrote, “Kate’s gown is gorgeous as she is.”
Fans are all agreeing that the duchess looks stunning in the designer gown, but another thing they can’t help but notice? How glamorous she looks for the occasion.
“Omg, this look is modern glam perfection!!!!!!” exclaimed one fan on Twitter. “A supermodel and queen is walking the red carpet” said another, whilst a third added that the look’s “modern glam is off the charts [sic].”
The duchess left her signature blow-dry at home and instead opted for a sleek, poker-straight style that was swept back behind her ears to allow both her earrings and dress’ exceptional neckline shine through.
Kate accessorised with diamond star drop earrings by Robinson Pelham and a black satin Alexander McQueen clutch bag, with a pair of black Prada high heels peeping out from beneath her floor-length dress.

Prince William, 39, and the duchess were among the British celebrities who attended the event, hosted by Paramount Pictures and The Film and TV Charity.
Famous faces from Juno Temple and Denise Van Outen to Jenni Falconer and Carol Vorderman – who dressed the part in a khaki aviator jumpsuit – descended on the red carpet for the star-studded occasion.
The event was the 72nd Royal Film Performance delivered by the charity – which supports those working behind the scenes in the UK's film and television industry – in its almost 100-year history.
The royal couple were greeted by the Lord Lieutenant and the CEO from the Film and TV Charity before being taken down the red carpet to be introduced to cast members from the film including Tom Cruise, Jennifer Connolly and Miles Teller.

Cruise also met Prince William’s late mother, Diana, on the Far and Away premiere red carpet in 1992.
