Dramatic Footage Shows Kīlauea Eruption In Hawaii
The Hawaiian volcano Kīlauea resumed its spectacular eruption on 15 January 2025. Lava fountains are now active at two vents on the western side of its caldera, marking the start of the fourth episode of the ongoing eruption that began on 23 December 2024. This latest episode has so far progressed more rapidly than earlier ones. If lava fountains persist, there is potential for their height to increase to over 70 metres (200 feet) tall. Kīlauea is one of the most active volcanoes in the world, and the most active in the Hawaiian islands.
