Donatella Versace’s ‘Human Waxwork’ Face: Cosmetic Surgery Expert Weighs In On The Debate

Too much Botox, lip fillers and a possible facelift have not boded well for the 59-year-old fashion designer

She hit the headlines earlier this week when pictures surfaced of her looking very shiny indeed.

Italian fashion designer Donatella Versace was dubbed a ‘human waxwork’ when the photos circulated, with critics speculating over her bizarre appearance.

The 59-year-old, who’s admitted she doesn’t believe in looking ‘totally natural,’ has overdone it on the surgery, according to experts.

We spoke to Mark Norfolk, Clinical Director for Transform Cosmetic Surgery, about what Donatella has had done to her face.

Heavy Botox User

“Where to start? Donatella is looking unbelievably shiny and I would put this down to her being a heavy Botox user,” he said.

“Botox can leave patients with a shiny, elongated line-free forehead – which is what you can see here.”

The plastic surgery expert suggested that she’s overdone it on the Botox, especially on her forehead and eyes.

“It’s not natural for a woman of her age to have no lines and wrinkles on her forehead or around her eyes,” he added.

“I would expect her to have regular Botox treatments with her own non-surgical specialist.

“If you look at her eyes, they appear half shut – you see this in women who have too much Botox in their forehead and filler in their cheeks.”

Lip Fillers

Donatella’s lips have been exaggerated for a number of years, suggesting she’s had surgical work done.

Mark reckons she’s had too much product injected, and recommended she waits longer between treatments to avoid the overly plumped-up look.

“The lines between her mouth and nose are very prominent, suggesting again, she has too much filler in her cheeks,” he said.

“Donatella’s lips have been over done, so much so that they are no longer in sync with the rest of her facial features and are the first thing you look at. Far too much product and there’s no definition in her top lip.

“My advice would be to leave more time in-between lip treatments and to have a minimal amount of product injected.”

Possible Facelift?

High hairline, taut skin and a glassy facial complexion suggests that the Mediterranean star has had a facelift, according to Mark.

“Her neck is showing signs of ageing whilst her facial skin is smooth – possible facelift, impossible to say without consulting her in person,” he said.

“Her make up is definitely not helping her and I would advise her to take a step back from having so many treatments and to assess whether they are working for her in a positive way.”
