Dior Just Brought Back Carrie Bradshaw's Favourite T-Shirt

During her time at Christian Dior, Maria Grazia Chiuri has by and large stayed away from the house's most recent history, choosing instead to look back to the Monsieur Dior and Marc Bolan days of the mid 20th-century. Until now, that is.
At her AW25 show today at Paris Fashion Week, Chiuri revisited the archives from John Galliano's celebrated tenure, namely with the like-for-like lifting of the famous 'J'Adore Dior' T-shirt. The logo tee was first seen in the SS01 collection worn under a frothy green dress and today made a return styled under a range of looks from brocade corsetry to a rather special ermine-like bolero jacket. One option, however, gave the simple T-shirt a more complex existence, as it was finished with a lace trim across the shoulders and the midriff. It was pretty pretty but came with an intriguing, more complicated proposition.
Inviting the return of such an item is a savvy move for the house. The T-shirt has retained its cult status over the years becoming a popular piece to pick up on resale sites. Much of this success comes in part down to its appearance in Sex And The City 2 several years after its initial catwalk turn, worn by Carrie Bradshaw as she heads into the souk and reunites with Aidan.
A return to the catwalk is always welcome by the fashion back who, despite claiming most often to be looking forward, love nothing more than a vintage reference and nostalgic throwback.
