Dianne Buswell's 'wedding picture' sends Strictly Come Dancing fans into a frenzy
Strictly Come Dancing's Dianne Buswell sent her boyfriend a not-so-subtle message on her Instagram, with the full support of her legion of excited followers. The professional dancer, 34, used an AI photo tool to create an eighties-looking wedding snap feature her and boyfriend Joe Sugg.
The fun reel started with a cute snap of the loved-up pair in a pool, with the words "Wait for it" written over the top. It then slid into the photo of Dianne – with her trademark red hair swapped for a blonde-brown – and Joe, in a full chiffon, pearl and lace wedding getup.
If that wasn't a big enough hint, Dianne added Bruno Mars' track Marry You to the reel, and wrote: "this really tickled me ! @joe_sugg" in the caption.
Her fans went wild for the post, with many tagging Joe to make sure he got the message. One wrote: "Oh come on guys! Take the leap xx", while another added: "What a tease!!! I actually thought u had then!!!!! Do it! Do it!! Do it!!!."
Some thought the reel was giving "Scott and Charlene vibes", referring to the iconic wedding between Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan characters in Neighbours. One follower commented: "Absolute Scott and Charlene scenes here!", and another agreed: "Kylie & Jason x".
Dianne and Joe, 32, have been dating since they were partnered together on the BBC dance competition in 2018, and rumours of an engagement have swirled almost constantly.
Fans were clearly hoping Dianne's post would be taken seriously by Joe, with many urging him to pop the question to his Australian girlfriend. One person said: "I dig it. Please manifest", and another one wrote: "Everyone is praying this will be a real life picture in a few years," followed by three engagement ring emojis.
YouTuber Joe and Dianne tend to keep the details of their relationship reasonably private, but have been known to quash false rumours in the past. When there was speculation the couple had split earlier this year following Dianne making a solo trip to her native Australia, she spoke out to set the record straight.
Speaking about break-up rumours, she said: “It makes me laugh that people think I wouldn’t go and see my family without Joe. It blows my mind. He knows I don’t live anywhere near my family, so if there is any chance I can go to see them… he doesn’t have to come with me everywhere."
