London Fashion Week is well underway with the industry’s biggest names ready to watch the action unfold from the FROW.

Yet despite the drive to become more inclusive in recent seasons, it seems the event still has a long way to go.

In a bid to challenge the lack of size representation on the runway, plus-size model Hayley Hasselhoff teamed up with online retailer Simply Be to lead a protest from an open-top bus this morning.

Driving across central London to spread the message, the aim was to encourage the British Fashion Council to celebrate women of all shapes and sizes.

And it proved to be an impressive turnout with the likes of leading body positive activists, Felicity Hayward and Honey Ross, also joining in on the protest.

Taking to the streets, the women came armed with signs which read “Fashion should empower us” and “So much more than our measurements” – a reminder that the industry needs to change.

Further pushing the body positive message, the women taking part also wore t-shirts bearing the words “artist”, “activist” and “dancer” across their chests in a bid to remind Fashion Week that we are defined by more than the size of our clothing.

But it’s not the first time Hasselhoff has led the campaign, as she took to the streets last year to question the industry’s lack of diversity.

According to Fashion Spot, last season only 30 plus-size models walked in ten shows throughout the London, Paris, Milan and New York shows.

Only time will tell if this Fashion Week has taken note.
