Ant McPartlin has returned to work, just one week after he became a dad for the first time, when he welcomed a baby son named Wilder with wife Anne-Marie. Ant announced the birth on Instagram alongside a sweet black-and-white snap of him holding his newborn.

The TV star captioned the photo: "Welcome to the family. Wilder Patrick Mcpartlin. Born, 14/05/24 at 8.54am Baby is beautiful, Mummy’s a legend, Sisters are over the moon. Dad’s a mess!"

Ant, 48, has now reunited with Declan Donnelly, as the pair returned to work to host the Prince's Trust Awards on Tuesday (21 May) at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London.

It came as his ex-wife Lisa Armstrong posted a message on Instagram that read: "I no longer listen to what people say, I just watch what they do. Behaviour never lies."

The duo have hosted the event for a decade now and are both Prince’s Trust Goodwill Ambassadors. They have also launched the trust's Making It in Media programme, which helps young people gain experience and opportunities in the media industry.

Although Ant is currently on paternity leave he has still be attending a number of events, including the BAFTA TV Awards on Sunday 12 May, and he will soon be back on our TV screens alongside Dec for the Britain's Got Talent semi-finals.

While Ant is currently on paternity leave, he did attend the BAFTA TV awards on Sunday 12 May and is back on TV with Dec for the Britain’s Got Talent semi-finals. Ahead of his return to work, celeb PR expert Mayah Riaz shared that Ant was likely feeling some rather mixed emotions.

Speaking to The Mirror, she said: "Ant's decision to take a break from Saturday Night Takeaway and prioritise fatherhood is a smart move. Becoming a father is a life-changing experience, and it is natural for him to want to spend quality time with his son and adjust to his new role as a parent."

Mayah continued: "Ant's return to work after becoming a dad will likely be filled with mixed emotions. On one hand, he may feel a sense of excitement and fulfillment as he resumes his career and reconnects onscreen with his co-host Dec."

Ant and Anne-Marie have reportedly given Dec the important role of little Wilder's godfather. Speaking to OK! about Dec's new role, a source said: "Dec is obviously so excited for Ant and has already been giving him advice - mainly how to deal with sleepless nights.

"He can’t wait to take on the role of godfather and he’s promised to take his duties very seriously." Ant and Dec are also said to be hopeful that their sons will grow up to be just as close their famous fathers.

The insider told us: "Wilder will practically be like a nephew to Dec, and he and Ant are excited for their boys to grow up together as there’s less than two years between Wilder and Dec’s son Jack - they want them to become as close as they are."
