Sara Davies often shares brilliant and super easy craft ideas on social media – and her latest is a shaker card, perfect to make for Mother's Day or for a special friend's birthday.

The Dragons' Den star posted a video on Instagram showing how she made the card and declared: "I love a shaker card!".

Alongside the video, she wrote: "I love a shaker card, and I had this idea of making a shaker card but making the shaky-bit something useful (in this instance bath salts!) so it becomes a present in a card!

"And I love it when the execution works out even better than i envisioned when I planned it!"

She also shared some useful tips for card making enthusiasts who would like to try making the card at home. She said: "Some top tips for making this card… because the bath salts are quite dimensional you need to allow a bit of give in the front of the card... I used a cello bag for the shaker and if you need it to keep its structure you can add in a piece of acetate cut to the size of the bag".

She also encouraged crafters to make sure their recipient knew that the make was a gift as well as a card. Sara said: "And make sure you write in the card that it’s bath salts otherwise your mam might just think it’s a lovely card and have no idea of her little treat!"

In the video, Sara can be seen cutting a heart shape out of a folded piece of card. She then draws round the heart on crafting paper and cuts it out, so she is left with a piece of craft paper with a heart-shaped hole in the middle.

She then draws round the heart again on another piece of white card and cuts that out using a craft knife.

Sara uses a glue mouse to stick the patterned card onto the white card and stick another piece of card on the back to create a pocket. In the pocket she pops a cellophane bag of bath salts.

She finishes off the card with a gorgeous Mother's Day sticker for an elegant final touch.
