'My cousin's baby name is so horrific I can't even repeat it - I've never screamed so loud in my life'
For any parent, choosing the perfect baby name is a top priority. Many spend hours on end searching for a name they hope will be easily pronounced and spelled by others.
Some parents may go for traditional names from different cultures or languages, while others may prefer more unique, "made-up" names. In fact, just this week, a German couple were banned from calling their baby boy 'Lucifer'.
But a woman on social media has a story that might rival this example. Taking to Reddit, the distressed poster explained how her cousin had named her daughter "the worst name ever" that led to a blood-curdling reaction.

"So, my cousin had a baby girl last month," the woman wrote. "She named her something so horrific I cannot even call the baby it. She combined two names and came up with... "Harlotte".
"After her grandparents Harvey and Charlotte. She didn't tell anyone the name idea until after she was named and papers signed. My mom burst out, "YOU NAMED THE BABY W****???" and my cousin started screaming.
"We are a loud family, but holy hell. This poor child. Harlotte. HARLOTTE."
Comically, she added: "She came out very pink and has a pug nose so I'm calling her Piglet for now."
Reddit users comforted the woman, saying they would've had the same response, and questioning her cousin's thought process behind the eyebrow-raising moniker.
One scribed furiously: "That's INSANE. Charlotte itself had everything she wanted. Poor kid," while a second penned: "I would immediately and INSISTENTLY start calling that child Lottie and never look back".
A third chimed in: "I appreciate your mom saying exactly what literally everyone else was thinking" and a fourth concluded: "If she doesn't immediately change it to Charlotte, she's a bad person for not making things right for her child's future."
