In Spare, the Duke of Sussex writes memorably about Cox. For a few days in his early 30s, he explains, he crashed at Cox's home. Harry writes, "As a Friends fanatic, the idea of crashing at Monica’s was highly appealing. And amusing." Later, when Courtney shows up, he explains, "She was Monica. And I was a Chandler. I wondered if I’d ever work up the courage to tell her." Later on, Harry reveals that he took shrooms from a "huge box of black diamond mushroom chocolates" at Cox's home.

Now, Cox is going on the record about Prince Harry. "He did stay here for a couple of days—probably two or three. He’s a really nice person," she told Variety.

She added, "I haven’t read the book. I do want to hear it, because I’ve heard it’s really entertaining. But yes, it’s gotten back to me about it. I’m not saying there were mushrooms! I definitely wasn’t passing them out." Cox also recently saw Prince Harry at Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi’s vow renewal, but didn't say hello because he was busy chatting with others.

Prince Harry has stayed under the radar since the press surrounding Spare, but is due to participate in a live-streamed "intimate conversation" this weekend with speaker and author Gabor Maté about "living with loss and the importance of personal healing."
