A Chihuahua was rescued and later reunited with his owner after he ran “10 miles” down the busy Interstate 5 in San Diego, California, on February 11.Adam Fischer was driving on I-5 when he saw the small dog dodge traffic as it sprinted down the freeway.Fischer captured footage of rescue efforts he undertook with other motorists. In the clip, Fischer explains he wanted to chase after the dog, but he couldn’t because he is on crutches. Instead, he followed the pooch to keep other cars from running him over“Dude, this dog has run, like, 10 miles, this little dog, and he won’t let anyone grab him. This whole highway is stopped and we’re just trying to save this dog,” Fischer says in the clip.Fischer’s video shows the dog getting under an SUV on the highway. A man who had been helping with the pursuit then put him on a leash.The dog, identified as a two-year-old Chihuahua named Henry, was brought to the Humane Society of San Diego and later reunited with his owner.
