Ever wanted to be a fly on the wall at a NYFW party? Or wondered how street style trends take off? With On the Grid, InStyle documents the best-dressed crowds at runway shows, sold-out concerts, and beyond. Consider this your style scene report.

The Cecilie Bahnsen woman contains multitudes. "Her wardrobe isn’t dictated by trends but by feeling, how a piece moves, how it fits into her life, and how it becomes part of her story," says Cecilie Bahnsen, the designer and founder of the beloved Copenhagen-based studio.

Since launching in 2015, Bahnsen's eponymous brand has honed in on a covetable mix of romance and craftsmanship that won her fans the world over. Collection after collection, she consistently delivers feminine mainstays like statement sleeves and frothy chiffon dresses that somehow double as everyday attire. This adherence to her singular vision has made Bahnsen an independent force in fashion and captured the hearts of emotional shoppers everywhere.

At the brand's fall/winter 2025 runway show on March 5, Cecilie Bahnsen devotees dressed the part, parading through the Palais de Tokyo in delicate florals with functional moto boots, bloomers worn under dresses, and quilted tops galore. Two gotta-have-it collabs with North Face and Asics, which Cecilie Bahnsen launched last year, hit the Paris streets in the form of sold-out red sneakers and jacquard peplum jackets.

“There’s a shared appreciation for timelessness, femininity, and individuality,” says Bahnsen of her clients. “The people who wear my pieces see clothing as something more than just function—they connect with the emotional and tactile elements of a garment.”

Everything she touches incorporates this down-to-earth fantasy, including the brand's newest collection. Fall 2025 marks an increased focus on separates and outerwear for Bahnsen, who found an unlikely source of inspiration in the classic runner's vest. "It’s redefining familiar codes in a way that feels both timeless and unexpected," she says of the collection, citing dresses with built-in vest toppers and luxuriously layered outerwear as standouts.

Turning a dorky runner's vest into a fashion must-have is not an easy feat, but Bahnsen is up to the challenge. She creates the sort of evocative, dreamy garments that inspire late-night impulse purchases—the differentiator is that her flights of fancy double as wardrobe staples. “My pieces are made to be worn in real life,” explains Bahnsen. “Whether it’s a dress layered over trousers for a more grounded, everyday look or a sculptural coat thrown over something simple, there’s a beauty in how different people make the pieces their own.”

True to form, attendees of her Paris Fashion Week show embodied timeless femininity and staunch individuality—much like the designer herself—offering up seriously expressive fashion. From sheer puffed sleeves to girly hiking boots, scroll on for the sensational outfits and romantic trappings of the street style trends at Cecilie Bahnsen for InStyle's On the Grid.
