ColourPop Debuts Valentine’s Day Makeup Collection Inspired by Dark Romance
ColourPop embraced dark romance for its limited-edition Valentine’s Day 2025 makeup collection, released on Thursday.
Branded A Shadow of Secrets, the full collection retails for $188, while individual pieces from the collection range from $10 to $23. The assortment of makeup products includes everything from tinted lip balms to an eye shadow palette and more.

ColourPop’s A Shadow of Secrets eye shadow palette features 15 rich burgundies, silvers, grays and smoky plums in matte, metallic, matte sparkle and pearlescent glitter finishes. The eyeshadows are formulated with a pigmented, blendable pressed formula and create a velvety effect.
The So Juicy lip balms combine various elements for plumped lips. The products included hydrating elements and a formula with Hyaluronic Acid, moisturizing tucuma butter, plumping ginger and ceramides and peptides.
Along with makeup items, the collection also boasts beauty essentials like the limited-edition lip scrub and lip mask, featuring a chocolate-covered strawberry flavor.
The Slow Burn lipstick and pencil feature a pigmented and sharpenable lip pencil for defined, not overlined, lips. The lipstick provides a creamy Lux application with full-coverage pigment in a comfy Crème finish.
Finally, the lip and cheek tint features a hydrating, multiuse balm that melts into the skin for a wash of buildable, dewy color.
ColourPop’s inspiration for the beauty brand’s 2025 Valentine’s Day collection comes directly from popular BookTok trends. The makeup and beauty assortment pays tribute to the popular romance novels that gained major traction on the social media platform, merging romantic narratives with a touch of darkness.
In 2024, ColourPop embraced a more traditional approach to its Valentine’s Day collection. The Lost in Love collection featured eye shadows, body glitter, lip and cheek balm, heart-shaped compacts and more in a selection of reds, pinks and corals.
