TikTok has been the catalyst for some dubious fitness trends over the years, from Oatzempic to the more worrying Raw Milk trend, it's now more important than ever to scroll with discernment.

However, a newer and more wholesome trend has hit our feeds. 'Colour Walks' are the new mindful walking trend to get influencers posting.

What is The 'Colour Walk' TikTok Trend?

The trend is fairly simple, you pick a colour and try to focus on as many things of that hue during your daily walk.

A big fan of colour walks, Michael Barrymore can be seen in various TikTok videos picking a colour, or being requested to pick a certain colour, and pointing them out on his walks.

While the trend is for a bit of fun, it is actually similar to a popular grounding technique used in mindfulness practices. The method of counting five things you can see, four things you can touch, three things you can hear, two things you can smell and one thing you can taste is popularly used by those who experience anxiety in order to feel more aware of their surroundings, and therefore calm. Grounding techniques such as this can 'anchor' us in the moment, instead of letting our thoughts race.

Barrymore takes part in his colour walks in London, with grey being a popular theme, however colour walks have taken over the world and influencers from different continents are joining in the fun too. From Spain to the Bahamas, and of course sunny England, the trend looks like it's here to stay.
