Parents around the UK were left delighted last week by the announcement that Joe Wicks is broadcasting virtual PE classes to millions of children off school due to the coronavirus outbreak.

This includes Coleen Rooney who has shared a sweet video online of her four young sons exercising along with the fitness star - who runs the hugely successful @thebodycoach Instagram account - via their TV screen.

The mum, 33, posted a clip to Twitter of ten year-old Kai, six-year-old Klay, four-year-old Kit and two-year-old Cass attempting to keep up with the famous personal trainer demonstrating a move during this morning’s inaugural session.

Her caption read: “PE with @thebodycoach this morning!! Thanks.”

However, Wayne Rooney’s wife wasn’t the only celebrity to get her kids staying fit with the social media favourite, who is live streaming 30-minute classes at 9am from Monday to Friday for the foreseeable future via his YouTube channel.

Giovanna Fletcher got her son Buzz, six, to join in this morning, and shared a snap of him lying on an exercise mat to Instagram.

The mum-of-three captioned the tongue-in-cheek image: “Huge congratulations to @thebodycoach for becoming the nation’s P.E. teacher. We loved it... this was Buzz after.

“See you tomorrow morning!!”

According to The Guardian, one million people live streamed Joe’s PE lesson this morning.

Announcing the new initiative on Instagram last week, he wrote: “I need your support to help spread this online so as many parents as possible know that this is an option for them to use next week.

“I am hosting LIVE workouts at 9am Monday to Friday on my YouTube channel for children of all ages.

“All I need is for you to screen shot this and post it on your wall, story, Twitter, Facebook, WhatsApp, LinkedIn and anywhere else.

“Parents are going to be under pressure next week and for 30 minutes a day I can take over and inspire and energise the kids to get active, bounce around and have fun.

“You can even join in with the kids. Please share away. This is going to help millions of children and parents feel happier for 30 minutes and beyond everyday.”
