Claudia Winkleman's The Traitors wardrobe is perfect January style inspo
Just as we pack away the Christmas decorations and tinsel, our wardrobe gets a similar New Year refresh. The party dresses and sequin skirts are banished to the back depths of our drawers in favour of oversized knitwear and velvet trousers that perfectly straddle the line between comfy and classy. Sure, there are plenty of fashion trends to look forward to in 2025, but our current style inspiration comes courtesy of the silver screen.
Specifically, The Traitors and its host Claudia Winkleman's wardrobe, an undeniably big draw that has tuning in to see more alongside the deception, challenges and twists that have already occupied the first few episodes of season three, which first aired on January 1. Consisting of Fair Isle jumpers, chunky ankle boots and check blazers, Claudia's Traitors look is the definition of easy January dressing, while still also ticking a few trend boxes too.
Just look to the autumn winter 2024/2025 runways for proof. Coined everything from ‘countryside-core’ to ‘haute Highlands’, designers including Anna Sui, Burberry and Fendi showcased layered tweed, clashing plaid prints and trailing scarves knotted round necks. In short, all key signifiers of the aesthetic that Claudia has made her own with the help of her longtime stylist, Sinead McKeefry.
From the Bella Freud brown tweed blazer to the Loewe olive and tan patchwork buckle jacket and floor-sweeping black fringed Saint Laurent coat, designer labels have been paired with authentic country chic brands including Holland Cooper and Brora, the Scottish cashmere company responsible for those grey knit fingerless gloves. A special shoutout to the Luxury Family Affair tweed cape personalised with the phrase ‘Mission’ printed on the back. Such staples have been paired with a dose of the TV presenter's trademark gothic glamour to create an aesthetic we all want to get in on this January.
So, whether you're heading back to work after time off or are simply sick of wearing pyjamas day in and day out (our unofficial uniform over the festive period), there's no better look to emulate right now. And you don't have to break to bank to do so!
