BBC's The Traitors came to a shocking end as one of the selected Traitors betrayed her fellow cloaked villain.

Hosted by Claudia Winkleman, the third series launched on January 1 with 25 new contestants eager to win a prize pot of up to £120,000.

In the first episode, Claudia selected Minah, Linda and Armani as her three Traitors and they have 'murdered' two Faithfuls since. While Minah has remained undetected, her counterparts have attracted suspicion from the other contestants.

However, during Friday (January 3) night's episode, Armani was banished from the castle after receiving the most votes from the other competitors, including her fellow Traitor Minah.

Stunned by Minah's vote, Armani spoke out in the private Traitors interview, saying: "Maybe I'm just a mug but we're meant to be here supporting each other, like what are you doing?"

The former star, who was confident that she was popular among her castmates, has since revealed she was surprised by the early exit.

"I was so perplexed," she said on The Traitors Uncloaked podcast.

Meanwhile Minah was not fazed by the betrayal and voiced: "Armani's put herself in this situation but I am playing my own game. You know, a girl's got to do what a girl's got to do."

The now-axed Traitor had attracted attention from the Faithfuls because of her outspoken nature. Even her sister, Maia had suspected the 27-year-old was a Traitor and voiced her concerns during tonight's roundtable.

Prior to the shocking betrayal, BBC's hit gameshow had already been captivated by its unexpected twists and turns.

Just minutes into the first episode, host Claudia announced that three contestants would be axed from the show before they set foot in Ardross Castle.

The unfortunate three included 24-year-old Jack, a landscaper and market trader. He was followed by a 38-year-old British diplomat named Alexander and Fozia, a 50-year-old outreach manager.

While the shocking twist left the competitors stunned, viewers have predicted that the ousted trio will return later in the series.

Since The Traitors' savage premiere, viewers have already crowned Minah, a 29-year-old call centre manager from Liverpool, as their preferred winner.

The Traitors is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
