Christopher Nolan walks the red carpet with his wife and children at Oppenheimer premiere
The UK premiere of the star-studded film Oppenheimer took place in London last night (13 July).
For the special evening, the film's director Christopher Nolan was joined by his wife and children on the red carpet.
Christopher and his wife Emma Thomas married in 1997 and have four children: Flora, Magnus, Oliver and Rory. The family were photographed together on the carpet, before taking their seats in the Odeon Luxe in Leicester Square to watch the highly anticipated release.
The Nolan family tend to keep a low profile, but over the years Christopher's children have featured in the background of many of his iconic films including Inception, Interstellar and The Dark Knight Rises.
The cast of Oppenheimer were also in attendance at last night's premiere. Stars Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Florence Pugh, Robert Downey Jr, Rami Malek, Kenneth Branagh and more were photographed walking the red carpet.
However, shortly before the film began, director Christopher revealed the cast had left the premiere early in solitary with the writer's strike in the US. Hollywood's writers have been striking for months outside the studios of streaming services such as Netflix and Disney over working conditions and pay.
Oppenheimer hits theatres on 21 July, the same day as the iconic Barbie movie. The biopic will tell the story of Julius Robert Oppenheimer, played by Cillian Murphy, who lead the Manhattan Project, a team tasked with developing an atomic bomb for the US government during the Second World War. The film explores his moral and ethical battles and his relationships with those in life during this time.
