Cher says she'll never go grey: 'That's fine for other girls, I'm just not doing it'
Cher isn't opposed to mixing things up in the fashion and beauty department, but there's one style switch up she isn't planning on making: letting her hair go grey.
Though many female celebrities opted to embrace their silver locks during the pandemic, the singer and actor has revealed her trademark jet black hair is here to stay.
The 75-year-old icon insisted that although going naturally grey is "fine" for other women, it is a trend she just isn't open to.
"[Going grey] is fine for other girls," she tells PEOPLE. "I'm just not doing it!"
Cher was speaking with the publication ahead of a joint campaign with Saweetie, 28, for M.A.C. Cosmetics beauty campaign Challenge Accepted, which encourages fans to put their own M.A.C. make-up to the test and share the results with #macchallengeaccepted.
Working with Saweetie on the shoot turned out to be anything but a challenge, according to the performer.
"I never met her, but I saw a video, and I liked her essence," she says. "We got along really well. Now she comes to dinner!"

The Turn Back Time singer's thoughts on going to the silver side are something of a contrast with other female celebrities who have been vocal about their decision to welcome the greys.
Last year Jane Fonda described how happy she was to have embraced her natural grey hair, as she was fed up of dyeing it.
Fonda isn't the only star who has started to embrace their natural colour.
Allison Janney, 61, also revealed she'd decided to swap her longer, dyed hair in favour of a cute, grey pixie crop and turns out accepting her natural colour was inspired by fellow actor Dame Helen Mirren.
Meanwhile, Drew Barrymore said she was opting to embrace her “natural” greys now she’s a mum.
The 46-year-old joked that her grey strands “double as highlights”.
“Now I’m a mom and in my mid-forties, I have the hair colour I like — drama-free and more natural," she wrote in a personal essay for The Sunday Times’ Style magazine.

Lily Allen also recently revealed she was rocking grey roots during the coronavirus pandemic.
Sharing a seemingly make-up free photo of herself with grey roots visible through her usually dark hair, the 36-year-old captioned the post with a grey-haired granny emoji.
Patsy Palmer also revealed she's totally on board with her red hair turning grey.
The former EastEnders’ star told her Instagram followers she’s fully embracing the ageing process and the grey locks that come with it.
But decided to shun the grey trend certainly hasn't done Cher any harm in the beauty stakes, having recently landed another campaign for UGG.
The musician is the face of the footwear brand's spring 2022 campaign, called 'Feel', an ongoing series that features “icons, leaders of culture and champions of change who inspire generations, promote individuality and evoke emotion,” according to Ugg.

Cher appears in the campaign wearing Ugg’s classic mini boot and coquette slippers in black paired with multicoloured clothing.
“How you ‘feel’ is the most authentic part of you as a human being,” Cher said in a statement about the campaign.
“I chose to be an artist. But the hard part is succeeding and failing in front of the entire world.”
The thought of going grey isn't the only thing Cher dislikes about the ageing process.
When previously asked how she feels about getting older the pop icon admitted honestly: "I hate it."
"What, I'm going to say I like it? No, I don't," she told The Guardian.
"Any woman who is honest will say it's not as much fun," Cher continued. "When I was working on the road we used to work two shows a night and then go out dancing all night long," but these days, "It's like we've got to rest because you've got another night."
