A cheese Easter egg has now landed
There’s an endless selection of Easter eggs to choose from nowadays – vegan eggs, Creme Eggs on pizza, or eggs without any chocolate at all.
But latest addition to the family has to be one to top them all – a cheese Easter egg.
You heard us; an egg made out of artisan cheese.
And it’s called – because what would Easter be without a healthy number of egg puns? – the ‘Cheester Egg’.
A creation of food blogger Annem Hobson and award-winning artisan cheese company Wildes Cheese, the Cheester Egg is made from a semi-hard, crumbly-yet-creamy cheese called Napier.
“Chocolate is okay, but it’s a little boring and frankly I’m sick of seeing it dominating key retail periods,” Hobson told Cosmopolitan.
“Cheese is what excites me so I’m thrilled my plans for a Cheester Egg have finally hatched and that the Cheese Advent Calendar is becoming a reality.
“There’s a whole army of cheese lovers out there showing me their support and I hope I’m doing them proud.”
While we’d all happily eat it by itself with our bare hands, you can buy it as part of a ‘Nest Hamper’ which includes the Egg, Peter’s Yard Sourdough Crisphead and handmade quince membrillo by Fruit Magpie (because what’s cheese without a sweet preserve?) for £29.95 on Hobson’s website.
