Celebrity masseuse reveals her bizarre biting technique
Most A-list masseuses remain quiet about their celebrity clients. But Dorothy Stein has revealed all about her strange biting technique loved by the likes of Kanye West and Simon Cowell.
Known as Dr Dot, Dorothy started treating celebrities at the age of 15 after being encouraged to bite by her mother. “She wanted me to massage her but my hands weren’t strong enough, so she just kept on saying ‘Bite me! So I’ve been doing this my whole life,” she told the Daily Mail.
Her first clients, Def Leppard, started a trend of swapping her services for free concert tickets. Since then, Dr Dot has seen over 3000 gigs for free.
She spoke to Refinery29 about her bizarre relaxation method which begins with biting backs and buttocks before moving into a more traditional massage: “Naturally, I ask the client if they want to try it first. I take big bites, obviously not firm enough to break skin, but firm and deep enough to grab and “tenderise” the back muscles, warming them up for the real rubdown that follows.”
“I’ve never hurt anyone doing it; it’s actually divine for the client, as it’s a sensation they’ve never experienced before. They’re marching into the unknown and putting their trust in me.”
If you’re in the market for some bite time, Dr Dot charges around $150 (£102) for a typical session. Biting comes free of charge.
