'Ozark's' Julia Garner reveals toned tum in striking cut-out Emmys dress
We've seen a wealth of thigh-high splits, glimpses of underboobs, exposed backs and crop tops on the red carpet over the years. Midriff keyhole cut outs, however, are seen fairly infrequently.
But Julia Garner revealed her spin on the trend at the 2022 Emmys.
The 28-year-old actor, who took home her third Emmy award for her role as Ruth in Netflix’s Ozark, revealed her toned tum in an embellished Gucci dress at the awards show in the US last night.
The midi dress featured long sleeves and crew neckline exposing just the lower half of her torso.
Featuring a considerable diamond-shaped cut out exposing her stomach and belly button, the look stood out from the sea of full-skirted and strapless gowns worn by other female celebrities at the prestigious event.
But Garner's not the first to work the trend. Belly-button-baring keyhole cut outs have been a style selected by a handful of A-listers in recent years - particularly during pregnancy.
Mon Laferte, now 39, turned heads as she cradled her pregnant bump in a lilac coloured power suit at the 2021 Latin Grammy’s.
The Chilean singer wore a daring lilac power suit that had a specially designed cut-out to make way for her growing bump.

And earlier this year, Victoria's Secret model Adriana Lima, now 41, delivered a glamorous maternity moment of her own at Cannes Film Festival.
The Brazilian model wore a custom black dress by Balmain’s Olivier Rousteing, to accentuate her pregnancy.
The floor-length silhouette’s main feature was a cut out at the stomach, drawing the eye to Lima’s blossoming bump.
