I Can't Bear It! Gentle Giant Snoozes Through Dental Check-Up. A giant black bear was out for the count during a trip to the dentist to have a tooth repaired. Tejon, a resident at Oakland Zoo, underwent treatment to address his painful canine and received a thorough check-up. A team of veterinary hospital staff and dental specialists administered general anaesthesia to carry out the procedure. Tejon, along with his mother Cambria and brothers Kern and Pismo, has been a resident of the zoo since 2017. The Oakland Zoo team will closely monitor Tejon in the coming months to ensure proper healing.
