Royal wedding memorabilia is coming in thick and fast, and now royal fans who are looking to catch ’em all might want to act quickly: a limited edition commemorative coin for the royal wedding is officially available to buy.

With less than a month to go before the big day, the Royal Mint – the government owned mint that produces coins in the UK – is wheeling out special £5 coins engraved with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s faces.

The coins come inscribed with the date of the royal wedding and feature a portrait of the pair which is said to be from a private sitting.

Oo-er.

The top tier option is an 850 piece limited edition, 22-carat gold coin, costing an eye-watering £1,980, the second priciest option is silver and comes in at £82.50, while there’s also a purse-friendly ‘uncirculated standard’ coin which costs £13.30.

The coin producer said the portrait nicely reflects the couple’s “relaxed and informal” meeting.

They explained: “Following the announcement of their engagement, the Royal Mint was granted a private sitting with Prince Harry and Meghan at Kensington Palace.

“The pair can be seen looking lovingly into each other’s eyes and highlights the easy familiarity and connection between the royal duo.”

All three editions are approved by Buckingham Palace, and are the only official coins for the royal wedding, so don’t go buying a dud off eBay…
