On Monday night Bulgari debuted its new high jewelry collection at the Terme di Diocleziano in Rome to mark the Italian jeweler's 140th anniversary. The 150-piece Aeterna collection was unveiled with a fashion show starring legendary models Isabella Rossellini and Carla Bruni and set in the ruins of Rome's largest ancient baths as an homage to both Bulgari's history as a house known for its remarkable creations and its longstanding connection to the Eternal City, which has served as an inspiration for some of its most iconic designs. (Aeterna is the Latin word for "eternal.") “It was fundamental for me to do something special, something as eternal as Bulgari and as eternal as Rome," says Bulgari creative director Lucia Silvestri.

Anne Hathaway and Priyanka Chopra sat front row, with Chopra wearing the stunning 140-carat Aeterna necklace, crafted to celebrate the brand's 140th anniversary. It took 2,800 hours to make; Silvestri describes it as "the most precious necklace we ever crafted."

Rosellini closed the show wearing the Monete Aeterna Augustus Emerald, an ancient bronze coin of Emperor Augustus from 36 A.D., strung on 149 incredible emerald beads.

"We have worked tirelessly to create, what we believe to be, the most extraordinary high jewelry collection ever," Silvestri explains, "that through the combination of boundless creativity and high-end craftsmanship, celebrates Bulgari’s ability to keep reinventing itself."
