One of the many perks of being a celebrity is the chance for top designer labels to “dress” you for red carpet events.

And while the majority of stars that attended last night’s 73rd Golden Globes awards event in LA last night took advantage of that privilege and enlisted their stylists with scouring designer showrooms in an effort to source their perfect frock, Bryce Dallas Howard headed to US department store Neiman Marcus and bought her own gown.

Why? Because there weren’t enough options available in Howard’s size.

Yes, seriously.

Most designer frocks are cut to fit a teeny tiny UK size 4, 6 and 8 and Howard is a healthy size 10 – something that the “Jurassic Park” star wasn’t at all ashamed to admit (and nor should she be) in her red carpet interview with Guiliana Rancic.

“I like having lots of options for a size 6 as opposed to maybe one option so I always go to department stores,” she said.

The gown she selected was a stunning blue Jenny Packham number, drenched in sequins and panache.

It featured a plunging lace neckline and three quarter lengths sleeves and looked fabulous on the star – but clearly we’re not the only ones who thought to.

Twitter’s bursting with compliments for the 34-year-old actress, with numerous people praising her for her winning look and her “realness”.
