'Broody' Lucy Mecklenburgh would 'love another baby' with fiancé Ryan Thomas

Former TOWIE star Lucy Mecklenburgh could well be gearing up for baby number three - after openly admitting to feeling ‘broody’ over a pal’s adorable newborn baby.

Sharing the cute post of her friend’s baby girl on her Instagram stories, the former reality star, whose fiancé is actor Ryan Thomas, wrote, ‘Stop making me broody Myla mae’.

Lucy, 32, already has two children with former Coronation Street star Ryan - Roman, 4, and Lilah, 2. But it sounds like she might just be considering adding to her gorgeous brood.

And now, a source has told OK! that the TV star loves nothing more than being a mum - and a big family is something she and Ryan have always dreamed about.

"It's no secret that Lucy would love more kids - her joy in life comes from being a mother. It's the best thing she's ever done," the source said. "Lucy and Ryan both love their families - Ryan in particular was so close to his dad before he passed away, and is always there for his brothers, Adam and Scott.

"Lucy is the same with her sisters. They want this for their own family and would love more kids. Ryan is such a family man and is on the same page with Lucy about having another baby."

Lucy, whose other half also shares a 15 year old daughter, Scarlett, with fellow Corrie actress Tina O’Brien, has touched on the possibility of more kids before.

Just two months after welcoming Lilah, she spoke about growing their brood in an Instagram Q&A, when a fan asked if she was “done” having children.

Sharing her reply to her 1.7 million followers, Lucy admitted at the time that she was “very likely” to be finished having children and that she “feels very blessed to have a healthy boy and a girl”.

But she also teased: “But Lilah is so happy and sleeps so well, she’s selling it more and more to me so u never know.”

She ended her reply jokingly with a direct mention of Ryan’s Instagram handle, followed by three emojis of a man running away. So perhaps, the door is not closed on that possibility!

Though the social media influencer has been praised for her very honest depictions of the ups and downs of parenting, it is very clear how much she adores being a mum to her two little ones.

With Roman, who was born just a week before the country went into lockdown due to the Covid pandemic, Lucy shared a heartwarming post which revealed her deep love of her baby but also how difficult parenting can be.

“I adore my son, every time I look at him I can’t believe I made this perfect baby boy and when he smiles & laughs my heart bursts with love.

“BUT I’ve really struggled now for 3 months maybe heightened by lockdown. Breastfeeding I love & hate, it is wonderful for bonding but bloody relentless! Sleepless nights aren’t getting any easier there is a reason sleep deprivation is a form of torture.”

They do say those newborn cuddles are addictive, though. And it does sound suspiciously like Lucy is missing that newborn phase.

Ryan himself seemed to tease the idea of baby number three back in April, during a luxurious, dreamy family holiday in Dubai.

The actor captioned a happy selfie with Lucy, Roman and Lilah, and his daughter Scarlett,: "It's moments like this I think we should have another one."

However, the Dancing on Ice champion kept followers on their toes by swiftly adding, "joking!" at the end.

Meanwhile, Lucy got tongues wagging on another big life-changing moment - the pair’s potential nuptials.

Jetting off to Portugal with Ryan and family and friends last month to celebrate Ryan’s 40th on June 10th, following the sun-soaked celebrations, Lucy teased in an Instagram Q&A with followers, that she might just start looking at wedding venues.

When one fan asked, “When is the wedding?” Lucy replied alongside a photo of her and Ryan looking loved-up: “The weekend felt like a mini wedding!

Two years after meeting on Bear Grylls' Celebrity Island in 2017, Ryan planned an elaborate proposal to Lucy during a romantic holiday in Positano, Italy.

But after ditching his original idea of having Italian singers on their hotel balcony, Ryan popped the question following a romantic dinner overlooking the water at the five-star hotel called Villa TreVille.

Now, as they celebrate five years being engaged, a source has told OK! that the couple are "stronger than ever" and another baby would complete their family.

"Lucy and Ryan are so in love," the source said. "They are always joking and laughing together, and another baby would help complete their family.

"Any obstacles they come across in life, they always get through them as a family. Having kids has actually brought them closer as a couple - sometimes kids can drive people apart but with them, it brings them together. Plus, Lucy is a fantastic step-mum to Ryan's daughter. Scarlett."

Sounds like the pitter-patter of little feet could be on its way!
