British Artist Makes Portraits Of Legends – Entirely From Denim
A British artist makes portraits of legends entirely from denim. Ian Berry, from Huddersfield, painstakingly cuts up old jeans & uses different shades of blue to build up his works. The 37-year-old, based in East London, is asking ‘who is your denim legend?’ for an upcoming exhibition. He has so far fashioned amazing likenesses of famous faces ranging from Madonna to Bob Marley. Other denim-linked stars include Kate Moss, Sid Vicious, Andy Warhol and Bruce Springsteen. Ian says: ''the first faces will line up like a team photo at the Textil Museet in Sweden in an installation and will grow. It will then form one piece on a giant canvas all in denim at the end of the show before it will travel to another museum in Germany in 2022."
