This Brilliant Organizer Single-Handedly Solved My Kitchen Storage Problem (It’s Magnetic!)
Whatever the opposite of the “fridgescaping” trend is, that’s my fridge organization style. My shelves are cluttered with condiments and glass food containers, and the outside is a messy constellation of magnets, wedding announcements, photo-booth strips, menus, and little tokens that bring me joy. Every time I tidy it up, it always ends up back in its original state — and honestly, I like it that way. But lately I’ve been in desperate need of some organization.
With just one drawer in my kitchen that’s reserved for cutlery, I needed somewhere to stash everything else I reach for all the time: oven mitts, hand towels, paper towels, everyday spices, you name it. And I needed said organizer to take up not one inch of my precious counter space. It seemed like too tall of an order to fill, but then I got the chance to try out the Yamazaki Home Tosca Magnetic Kitchen Organizer — which was a winner in Apartment Therapy’s 2024 Organization Awards.

What’s so great about this magnetic kitchen organizer?
This 12-by-14-inch organizer is a powerhouse of a kitchen organizer. Why? It’s brilliant because it adheres to the fridge, creating storage space out of nothing. Its wood-and-steel frame is lightweight but sturdy, with a streamlined look, and using it couldn’t be easier to install: I simply slid it out of the box and stuck it onto my fridge door, where the magnets held it firmly into place. Even after hundreds of careless door openings and closings, it’s never budged.
As for what it can hold, that’s really up to you. I use it to stash my most-used spices, the little clips I use to fasten bags of frozen fruits and veggies, paper towels, and oven mitts. But the various organizing elements — a shelf, two wooden rods, a metal bar, and six hooks — can be used in so many ways. Keep your favorite cutting boards within easy reach on the shelf, use the bar to store plastic wrap or tin foil instead of paper towels, and add S-hooks to some of your utensils and gadgets to hang them from the bars and hooks.
Whichever kitchen items are on the heaviest rotation, chances are you can find a way to store them in this organizer. And because your fridge is typically in an easily accessible area, the magnetic organizer turns the fridge into a hub of usefulness — and all without robbing you of any cabinet, drawer, or counter space.
In the months I’ve been testing this gem, almost every person who has come to my apartment has asked about it, which speaks volumes about how useful it is and how nice it looks. When I’m bopping around my kitchen, cooking or cleaning, I always make a quick pit stop at this kitchen organizer to grab a paper towel, spice jar, or oven mitt. In my messy ocean of a fridge, it’s an island of organization that looks good, makes me feel organized, and saves me so much time throughout the day.
