Bride Winds Up in Tears on the Way to Her Wedding After Uber Driver Tells Her This (Exclusive)
"His fiancée essentially ghosted him about a month before his wedding day. Simply left him without a word," the bride's sister tells PEOPLE of the Uber driver
An Uber driver made a bride cry on the way to her wedding.
Kindsey Gaynor (née Carbol) was en route to Sarabande Chicago on Nov. 15, where she would marry Elias Gaynor later that evening. She knew there was a chance she'd shed a few happy tears on her wedding day, but didn't expect to burst into sad tears during her 35-minute ride to the venue before getting ready for her big day.
Her sister and maid of honor, Camry Carbol, was in the car with her when their Uber driver, whose name will not be shared to respect his privacy, began telling a story that would stick with them forever.
"She's like, 'Okay, I want to finish our relationship,'" the driver can be heard saying in a video of his conversation with Kindsey. The bride, who describes herself as an "empath," cried while she listened in the backseat.
Camry tells PEOPLE that the Uber driver could immediately see that the two were on their way to a wedding when they got into his car due to their excited-nervous energy, and all of their bags.
"We struck up a conversation with the driver as we usually do if the driver is warm and open to converse, which he most certainly was. The topic of conversation was weddings and relationships of course," Camry says. "He began to open up and share a bit of his story. His fiancée essentially ghosted him about a month before the wedding day. Simply left him without a word."
She continues: "I believe Kindsey’s emotions were already heightened as it was such a huge day for her! She was happy, of course, but understandably sentimental."
Even though the driver's story was sad, the bride felt a beautiful connection with him. He must have felt the same, because he gave the ladies his card at the end of their trip and told Kindsey that if she ever needed a ride anywhere, to let him know and he'd be happy to deliver her safely to her destination.
"He was a true sweetheart," Camry says. "If we could have given him six stars, we would have!"
She adds: "I think there was this spark of emotions that came from two love stories (with very different outcomes) coming together in one Uber ride. A sort of gratitude for the man waiting for her at the venue."

Kindsey and Elias — who met through church and got engaged atop London House Chicago last December — tied the knot later that night at their black-tie wedding.
"They’re truly a match made in heaven," Camry says. "Their relationship has been a safe haven and they’ve got a magnetic energy about them when they’re together. They’ve got a sweet golden retriever named Bronx and their transition into a family has been sweet to watch!"
At the wedding, Kindsey and Camry shared tears, but also laughs. "Classic sisterhood!"
