Bride's brilliant response to finding out her husband-to-be is cheating
For every bride-to-be, pre-wedding jitters often kick in the night before the nuptials. But for one woman, the evening spent toasting champagne with friends didn’t quite end as anticipated.
Casey, who changed her name to conceal her identity, was enjoying pre-wedding drinks in a luxe hotel room when her phone buzzed.
She checked her mobile to find a text from an unknown number with the words: “I wouldn’t marry him. Will you?”.
A series of illicit screenshots were also attached to the text – revealing her fiancé Alex’s affair with another woman.
One text read: “This weekend. You and I. It is on, hot stuff. Bring your A game.”
“Your body is f***ing incredible. And s**t do you know how to use it. I wish my GF had half the skills you do,” another message said.
The texts were dated mere days before the wedding ceremony and even contained selfies of her partner of six years with the other woman.
Casey told Whimn: “Every word was like a dagger in my heart and my wedding was only hours away. How could I cancel when everyone had already travelled to be there and everything was paid for?”
Despite her friends advising her to call off the upcoming ceremony, Casey decided to walk down the aisle – only to read the texts out to their wedding guests.
“As he saw my face he knew this was not an ecstatic woman on her big day, but he had no idea what was coming,” she said. “I arrived at the front of the room, took a big breath and I faced our friends, our parents and I told them the truth about Alex.”
The bride turned to address their guests and simply said: “There will be no wedding today. It seems Alex is not who I thought he was.”
She put down her flowers and took out her phone to read “every single” shocking message she had been sent.
Unsurprisingly, Alex fled the church with his best man in tow after an awkward applause from guests.
“There will not be a wedding reception today, but instead, there will be a celebration of honesty, finding true love and following your heart even when it hurts,’ Casey said to the crowd.
Although the big day certainly didn’t play out as anticipated, the bride admitted that she managed to enjoy “one hell of a party”.
