A bride‘s ‘save the date’ has gone viral after she asked wedding guests to take a fortnight off work for her destination wedding.

The bride-to-be, believed to be Australian, also asked her guests to save almost almost £3,000 to attend the three-day-long nuptials and cover the cost of the trip.

In the save-the-date invitation, which has since been shared on Facebook, she lists the ‘things to keep in mind before you say yes’.

“The wedding will be held over in an Asian country – Philippines, Thailand or Vietnam. One of the above… Unsure of the venue as of yet.

“You will need at least two weeks off… One week is too short for how long the flights are. Only two to three days for the wedding festivities, but the rest of the time is yours to do and go on whatever adventures you like.

“You need approximately $4,000 to $5,000 [£2,815] or more if you desire.”

Her letter has received some fairly acerbic responses on the social media platform, with one person suggesting the couple would be ‘there on their own’.

They wrote: “Bridezilla is tame for this one. She’s more like living in a dream world. Is she marrying herself what does the partner expect. They’ll be there on their own.”

Another social media user added: “Tell her she’s dreaming.”

This isn’t the first bride to make sky-high demands of guests.

Last month, a bride asked her wedding party to dress in a weight-based dress code. Women above 160 pounds and men above 200 pounds were requested to wear black or camouflage.
