Brian Gibbs, fired National Park ranger, partners with brand to design new T-shirts

A National Park Ranger from Iowa who went viral for his Valentine's Day social media post describing his firing has a new collaboration. Raygun, an ethically-sourced merchandise company, has released two new T-shirts inspired directly by ranger Brian Gibbs.

Gibbs made a Facebook post regarding his termination as an education park ranger at the Effigy Mounds National Monument that was shared 234,000 times and has more than 94,000 likes. His termination is one of thousands in President Donald Trump's efforts to cut the federal workforce.

What's Effigy Mounds ranger Brian Gibbs' story?

Gibbs, 41, reported to work on Valentine's Day last month only to be locked out of his government email mid-shift. By the end of his workday, his supervisor informed him of his dismissal.

"Without any type of formal notice, my position was ripped out from out under my feet at 4 p.m. on a cold, snowy Friday," Gibbs wrote in his posts on social media. "Before I could fully print off my government records, I was locked out of my email and unable to access my personal and professional records."

The native Iowan took to Facebook to share his story, stating he is tired of "being bullied and censored by billionaires." This was the second time in five years that his job was eliminated, forcing him to uproot his family again, according to the post.

"I am tired of wiping away my wife’s tears and reassuring her that things will be ok for us and our growing little family that she's carrying," Gibbs said.

Raygun was so inspired by Gibbs' story that the Des Moines-based store designed two shirts to support him. One of them features an upside-down ranger hat with flowers and butterflies growing out of it. It states "Gratitude - Reciprocity - Abundance" from Gibbs' social media post.

The second one is the full quote from Gibbs' post stating "gratitude and reciprocity are the doorway to true abundance, not power, money, or fear."
