Beyoncé's daughter Rumi Carter, 6, breaks record as youngest female on Billboard Hot 100 chart

Beyoncé's 6-year-old daughter Rumi Carter has broken the world record for the youngest female singer to hit the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

The daughter of music legends Beyoncé and Jay Z managed to land in the Hot 100 after featuring on her mum’s track Protector, from the singer’s newly-released country album Cowboy Carter.

Protector charted at number 42 on the Hot 100, bringing in 11.3 million streams in the U.S. during its first week out.

The young star can be heard in the intro of the acoustic ballad saying to Beyoncé: "Mum, can I hear the lullaby please?”

In the emotional song, Beyoncé opens up about motherhood and sings about being proud of and protecting her three children, six-year-old twins Rumi and Sir Carter, and 12-year-old daughter Blue.

The 42-year-old songstress sings in the chorus: “And I will lead you down that road if you lose your way / Born to be a protector / Even though I know someday you're gonna shine on your own / I will be your projector.”

The previous record for the youngest artist in the charts was held by Rumi’s big sister Blue Ivy. Her now 12-year-old sibling landed in the charts in 2019 when she featured on her mum's song Brown Skin Girl at the tender age of seven.

Blue even went on to win her first-ever Grammy Award at the age of just 9 years old for starring in the music video of the same hit.

And Rumi and Blue are only following in their superstar mum’s footsteps as Beyoncé breaks her own records with her new country album Cowboy Carter.

In February, the pop legend’s hit song Texas Hold ‘Em reached number one on the Hot Country Songs chart, making her the first-ever black woman to ever do so in music history.

And the song is still going strong, staying at the top of the charts at number one for the eighth week in a row. Queen Bey’s song knocked off Zach Bryan and Kacey Musgrave's chart-topping hit I Remember Everything, which has remained at number one for 20 weeks.

Cowboy Carter also debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and is the most popular album of 2024 so far. It’s also the global pop star’s eighth No. 1 album on the all-genre Billboard 200.

She previously topped the charts with Renaissance (in 2022), Lemonade (2016), her self-titled album (2013), 4 (2011), I Am… Sasha Fierce (2008), B’Day (2006), and Dangerously In Love (2003).
