These are the best dog-friendly hotels in London for a mini-break
One of the loveliest things about a staycation in the UK is that we get to bring the most pampered member of the family along with us; our dogs always add to the fun and joy of a break, though they do mean that there are a few extra logistics to cover. And while many self-catering cottages and countryside hotels are well-equipped to cater for our four-legged-friends - with walks on their doorstep and acres of grounds - when it comes to a city break, finding dog-friendly hotels can feel likely a slightly bigger task. Especially if you're heading to London.
With a plethora of green spaces, from iconic Green Park flanking Buckingham Palace to the breathtaking views of Primrose Hill and Hyde Park, bringing your pet along is a brilliant way to explore the city through different eyes.
That's why we've rounded up the best dog-friendly hotels in London for 2024 for you to bring your pooch along for the adventure.
And you might be surprised to hear that there are more dog-friendly hotels in London than you'd expect. From Rosewood London's Barbour dog beds, dog treats, coats and leads for guests with paws to enjoy during their stay, to dogs being treated like royalty at The Egerton House Hotel, where complimentary turndown treats and menus they can choose from for their meals await, there's a pet-friendly hotel in London for every type of dog and owner.
So, pack the lead and squeaky toys too, and check yourself and your pooch into one of our favourite dog-friendly hotels in London. You don't get a staycation more paw-fect than these....
Kimpton Fitzroy, Bloomsbury
Moments from the British Museum, Russell Square and Bloomsbury, The Kimpton Fitzroy is the perfect base for the stylish hound about town. There are no restrictions on dog size and according to the Fitzroy, 'if they fit through the door and into the lift, they are welcome'. Dog food, bowls and toys are all provided, and they even have a Director of Pet Relations, their favourite four-legged employee, Winston. They are welcome in Burr & Co or in Palm Court, if you fancy a cocktail or afternoon tea, but not in the main restaurant.
Rooms are a delight. Beautifully styled in warm, neutral tones and pups get their own bed and treats. Our favourites have views over Russell Square. And if you fancy a night out on the tiles, the pet concierge can arrange a pet sitter to look after your furry loved one.
The Egerton House Hotel, Chelsea
This boutique hotel in the heart of Knightsbridge offers your pet nothing but the best five-star service. Dogs at The Egerton House Hotel are treated like royalty, with their own pet concierge to ensure they arrive in style to an arrival message, embroidered towel, food and water bowls, toys, treats and, of course, a complimentary turn down treat.
On booking, you'll receive a form for you to mark down your pet's preferences, and they'll even get a chance to pick their very own dinner from the pet-friendly menu. A stay here will seriously raise your dog's standards - don't say we didn't warn you. Afternoon tea is a must for pampered pooches, who can feast on homemade dog biscuits, carrot cupcakes and enjoy doggy canapes.
The Standard, Kings Cross
Surprisingly, London is one of the most dog-friendly cities in the UK. Moments from St Pancras station and Kings Cross, The Standard is certainly not standard when it comes to welcoming our four-legged family members. Housed in the deliciously Brutalist former Camden Town Hall Annex, the luxury hotel is entirely pet-friendly and dogs are welcome everywhere from the trendy rooftop bar with views over St Pancras, to Isla, which offers indoor and outdoor dining, and Double Standard, famous for its brilliant bottomless brunch.
The 266 rooms and suites are bright and buzzy and all bring a colourful retro vibe with hints of its Brutalist exterior. The best rooms have terraces with outdoor bathtubs, so you can soak in the views over the city.
Bulgari Hotel London, Knightsbridge
Many of the capital's most discerning pooches can be found at Bulgari Hotel London, which has launched its own (very stylish) selection of accessories and necessities to make travelling with furry friends easier - and chicer. The Bulgari Pet collection includes complimentary beds, bowls, toys and more for a little pet pampering. Meanwhile, a Pet Concierge can recommend the best nearby walks and dog-friendly restaurants, and a pet photographer can even be booked to capture a suitably extra souvenir.
Owners also get the VIP treatment while staying at this sleek temple of Italian luxury. The rooms and suites positively gleam with glamour - walnut wood, dark leather and flashes of silver abound - and the vast subterranean spa beckons with a dreamy pool and expert residencies. Top it all off with Italian food and Manhattan flair at Sette, followed by a heady cocktail at Nolita Social (and if the night goes on, dog-sitting is available).
The Lime Tree Hotel, Belgravia
Dog owners, rejoice! The Lime Tree Hotel, which is a gem located in the heart of London's Belgravia, is now welcoming dogs once again. Four-legged friends will be quite at home in the sumptuously comfortable rooms in this historic townhouse hotel, and also in the hotel's brilliantly rustic-chic restaurant, The Buttery. There's a walled garden that four-legged guests will love – and, as it's every inch the cottagecore fantasy, so will their owners.
The friendly, familial welcome guests know and love is extended to pets here. In addition to food and water bowls, the hotel will provide comfortable beds, so your pooch will feel comfortable – and you won't have to lug their belongings around charming Belgravia while you explore.

Alongside these cosy beds and other pet-friendly amenities, your canine companion can enjoy the culinary delights of the rightfully respected Sea Containers Restaurant too. There are dedicated dog dining areas so they can lounge around without the worry of disturbing other guests.
