This Morning host Ben Shephard was left in a bit of a pickle today in a hilarious exchange with radio presenter Nick Ferrari.

The 65 year old radio host was broadcasting live from the LBC studios, as he joined Ben Shephard, and Sonia Sodha for a chat on Thursday, 6 June, about the amount of time children and teens spend on their phones.

The Tipping Point host joked: "It's because you keep taking all these selfies, Nick, that's the problem." Referring to his children, Sebastian and Nicolo, he said: "What distresses my sons is when I insist on taking my shirt off to show my ripped physique at the dinner table."

The joke had everyone in the This Morning studio laughing, but while Cat and Sonia hinted they wanted to move on, Ben kept the banter going.

"We're going to take a short break," he first announced, adding: "But today's the day that people start their beach-body-ready diets so maybe Nick is in full prep!"

Never one to miss a chance to get a laugh on the show, Nick gestured towards his shirt collar before playing with the buttons on his shirt: "you want me to take my shirt off now?" he quipped, to which Ben cheekily replied: "Not just yet."

Nick recently triggered 637 Ofcom complaints for his comments about wanting to eat nuts when flying. The remarks led to Dermot O'Leary being forced to apologise for his remarks.

During a segment, Nick shared his vision for the perfect airline, which included some rather controversial rules.

"I'd love to run an airline. I don't know about you, but here are some of the restrictions; no babies or children who cry, nobody who tries to recline their seat, nobody who doesn't fancy a drink mid air," he declared.

He continued with a list of passenger no-nos: "No men wearing flip-flops - if they haven't got socks, they're not allowed on. And probably nobody who hasn't got a sense of humour or is wearing a funny hat."

But it was his comment on nut allergies that really caused a commotion: "Oh, and if you don't like peanuts, don't get on the plane either because I do and I can't eat them because someone at the back of the plane is going to drop dead or something if I have a peanut. I don't quite know why. But there's my airline."

This remark led to a flood of complaints from viewers.

In lighter news, it is reported that Fern Britton is in talks to make a sensational comeback to the much loved ITV show.

After a recent guest appearance, the 66 year old TV presenting icon, who left This Morning in 2009, revealed that show producers have invited her back for some filming. She recently revealed the 'real reason' why she originally decided to quit after an 'incident' with co-host Phillip Schofield.
