BBC's Am I Being Unreasonable? hit with chaos as filming halted for shock reason
Filming for the second season of Am I Being Unreasonable was derailed by a life-changing event.
Daisy May Cooper, who plays the irreverent protagonist Nic, returned to filming after the comedy-thriller met TV success on BBC One. But she had to halt production due to an unexpected life event.
"I was pregnant when we started filming", she recalls, "and then my son was born seven weeks early, so we had to stop filming right in the middle."

The 38 year old This Country star welcomed her third child, Benji, with partner Anthony Huggins in June 2024, causing a lengthy pause in production, particularly as the show couldn't go on even further without its cast.
Despite the stress, Daisy speaks fondly of her son: "I have a brilliant son, but it was really stressful." Her co-star and co-writer Selin Hizli, 36, admires her resilience: "I don't know how she did it, to be honest with you. There was a huge amount to do."
Daisy's return to filming also saw her debut a new look on camera. "It was a bit mad", she admits, "because since we filmed the last series and this series, I've had my lips done. I’ve lost about 10 stone. In those flashbacks, we're just kidding ourselves, we don't even look like the same people."
For the second season of Am I Being Unreasonable?, Daisy portrays a woman in turmoil as Nic's affair with her brother-in-law Alex is exposed in jaw-dropping scenes.
Later, a cryptic newcomer - portrayed by Daisy's brother Charlie Cooper - hints that her son Ollie might follow his killer instinct, challenging her to consider how her chaotic actions might be affecting her child.
Fans of the gripping comedy-drama will recall that in the inaugural season, Ollie hurled the family cat Mr Meowgi into the tumble dryer after discovering his mum's secret romance with his uncle Alex, leading up to a hard-hitting conversation about parenting.
"That was something we started in series one", Selin remarks, "and we're both mothers, so we relate to that a lot. It was something that we wanted to explore a lot more. And having Lenny was fabulous because we know he can handle whatever we throw at him."
Yet, further challenges are in store for Nic, especially when her volatile relationship with Jen escalates significantly - leading Selin to struggle with supporting her own character. "I'm always defensive of Jen, but I feel it's becoming harder and harder to defend her behaviour", she confesses, promising that audiences will finally get to delve deeper into her backstory.
"You maybe understand where she's coming from a little bit more, but she has her issues, and she's working through them in her own way. I love playing her! ".
