Daisy May Cooper says Am I Being Unreasonable character is unrecognisable after 10-stone weight loss
Daisy May Cooper and Selin Hizli are due back on screens as the repercussions of Nic's affair with brother-in-law Alex unfold in the second season of Am I Being Unreasonable?
While the character addresses her inner turmoil and audience favourites get further development —like the enigmatic Jen (played by Selin Hizli)—Daisy May Cooper, who breathes life into Nic in the BBC show, has undergone a significant transformation.
The actress, 38, revealed she'd dropped 10 stones and embraced the popular lip filler look. Speaking of her new appearance, Daisy said with a laugh: "It was a bit mad, because since we filmed the last series and this series, I've had my lips done", adding "I’ve lost about 10 stone."

Reflecting on the flashbacks within the show, she quipped: "In those flashbacks, we were just kidding ourselves, we don't even look like the same people."
Her co-writer Selin also gave an insight into the show's creative process for the returning viewers, sharing: "We took a really long time to write the second series, and we actually started at a completely different point and it just didn't feel right. We felt like we just had to go back and pick it up right from where we left things off."
Fans can expect to see these dramatic changes in both storyline and appearance as Season 2 picks up right after Nic's scandalous reveal, diving straight back into the chaotic yet gripping world of Am I Being Unreasonable.
The production team of the beloved show gathered all their stars, including Lenny Rush and Dustin Demri-Burns, who play Daisy's on-screen family—her son Ollie and hubby Dan. But life threw a curveball when Daisy welcomed her son, Benji, earlier than expected in June 2024, putting the brakes on filming.
Recalling those whirlwind days, she shared, "I was pregnant when we started filming", adding how her son's surprise arrival seven weeks early led to a filming freeze: "and then my son was born seven weeks early, so we had to stop filming right in the middle. I have a brilliant son, but that was really stressful."
Her co-star Selin, age 36, marveled at Daisy’s strength during this time saying, "I don't know how she did it, to be honest with you. There was a huge amount to do."
Probed on her character Jen, Selin shared the growing challenge in portraying the cryptic cleaner: "I like getting under Jen's skin because she is so intriguing. I'm always defensive of Jen, but I feel it's becoming harder and harder to defend her behaviour."
Nic faces her own drama this season as she worries if her character’s dark deeds might rub off on young Ollie. Things take a spooky twist when a tarot card reading by a newcomer (played by Daisy's brother Charlie Cooper) suggests Nic could be shadowed by an otherworldly pest, leaving her fretting over whether Ollie could become a killer.
Ollie infamously flung the family cat Mr Meowgi into the tumble dryer after stumbling upon his mum's hidden romance with his uncle Alex during the first season of the series, hinting at a potential escalation.
"That was something we started in series one", Selin comments, "and we're both mothers, so we relate to that a lot. It was something that we wanted to explore a lot more."
She continues: "And having Lenny was fabulous because we know he can handle whatever we throw at him." However, Daisy gives a heads-up to the audience about Nic's journey ahead: "It gets worse. It starts spiralling madly."
