BBC The Traitors fans fume ‘no point in watching anymore’ after ‘best character' is banished

The Traitors viewers have been left fuming after a fan-favourite was banished from the castle.

In Wednesday (January 22) night's episode, tensions were high among the contestants as it was the day of the final murder. Ultimately, Joe was the last victim, killed off by long-term Traitor Minah and newly-recruited Charlotte.

However, when the contestants gathered for their daily roundtable, where they voice their suspicions about potential Traitors hiding between them, Minah received the most votes.

Her shocking banishment was made possible by fellow Traitor Charlotte, who cast the final vote. As BBC viewers tuned in, they could not contain their disappointment at the star's exit.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one person penned: "We lost the best British Traitor ever because she trusted a woman with a fake Welsh accent."

A second stated: "Minah is gone. No point in watching anymore. She carried the whole show."

While a third said: "Regardless of the result, Minah is by far the best Traitor this show has seen. NO suspicion whatsoever until this week. NEVER threw any of her fellow Traitors under the bus, and protected Linda until she no longer could. She deserved that money." (sic) And a fourth quipped: "Seething that Minah's gone from the Traitors."

Yet another TV fan shared their discontent, writing : "Wanted the Traitors to win when Minah was there, but honestly now I ain't rooting for any of them." (sic)

Speaking on Ed Gamble's Uncloaked podcast after her banishment, Minah reflected on the decision to recruit Charlotte as a Traitor.

She said: "Now, looking back, I should've picked Lisa. Because Linda was out [...] but I thought she would rather get murdered than accept and I didn't want to put anyone out of the game in that way. And then I thought I could have picked Frankie but again, similar reasons, I just didn't think Frankie was built to be a Traitor. I think if I'd have known Leanne was in the army, I would have picked her but she always seemed very worried to me.

"I had accused Charlotte on the second roundtable and she had proved her faithfulness," she added. "So in my head I was like she is the only female who had proven to everybody that she is 100% faithful.

"Therefore, surely she'll think of [being recruited] as 'I wanna win with her' but obviously because I had accused her, looking back at it now she was [probably thinking], 'I do not trust you,'" she concluded.

Charlotte recruited Freddie to join her as a Traitor ahead of the final, airing on Friday (January 24).

The Traitors returns tomorrow at 9pm.
