The newest series of the BBC's Amazing Hotels: Life Beyond The Lobby is in full swing and the third hotel takes us to one of the best destinations that feature in series six.

This latest series of the much-loved programme has seen the return of Monica Galetti (who will be on a Good Housekeeping cruise of the Venetian lagoon in 2025) and Rob Rinder as they explore seven more wonders of the hotel world.

From the majestic mountains of Bhutan to the historic streets of Rome, this series sees the pair explore some of the most wanderlust-inducing destinations across the globe. They discover some of the world's oldest hotel rooms in Turkey's Argos in Cappadocia, share the secrets of the Intercontinental Shanghai Wonderland in China, and venture deep into the Malaysian rainforests to find The Datai Langkawi.

At each of these special properties, they go behind the scenes to the places that members of the public don't usually see, as well as sharing the heartwarming stories of the people who keep them running.

But it's the third episode of this new series that has caught our attention the most. Airing on 26th September, the third instalment features one of the most luxurious – and intriguing – hotel openings of recent years: Six Senses Ibiza.

One of the largest hotels on the famed White Isle, this breathtakingly beautiful property proves that there's so much more to Ibiza than parties and clubbing, showcasing its soulful, spiritual side in the most luxurious way imaginable.

On the northern tip of the island, across the infinite blue of Cala Xarraca, the sprawling hotel occupies a pine-clad hillside dotted with bamboo-roofed buildings in natural hues, which meld seamlessly with the beautiful natural landscape.

The resort features 137 guest rooms, pool suites, residences and beach caves. In each, the interiors are a study in muted, refined luxury, with an abundance of pale wood and stone creating a cocoon of calm.

But it's the seemingly endless activities and events that happen here that really set Six Senses Ibiza apart. From cacao ceremonies to silent hikes, the property reflects the mysticism and wellness that have drawn travellers to the island for years.

The culinary offering is also exquisite, with farm-to-table cooking and a focus on local, seasonal produce, as well as a host of hip options including crafted cocktails in the Pharmacy Bar and Latin American Cuisine in the Beach Caves.

There's a surprise around every corner at this marvel of a hotel, as Monica Galetti told the BBC. "In Ibiza at the Six Senses Hotel, there was a recording studio with a music producer and DJ," she says.

"I believe this series we have been lucky to be able to discover a very diverse range of hotels – from genius engineering to ones with over 300 years of family history, that still continue to flourish."
