There are very few companies who are able to brag about supplying not only the Queen, but also the household of the Prince of Wales (and, until his passing, the late Duke of Edinburgh). However, the well-known British jacket-makers, Barbour, holds all three bragging rights.

Which is why we're thrilled that John Lewis has several of its key Barbour pieces on sale right now, many at reduced-to-clear prices. That's especially handy right now with the onset of some serious rain and less-than-balmy 'summer' weather.

Barbour has been a long-time favourite of the royals of all ages for decades. In fact, the Queen is believed to have owned one particular waxed jacket for more than 25 years.

Princess Diana was also a lifelong member of the Barbour-loving clan and was often seen wearing one during both professional and personal occasions.

The Duchess of Cambridge is also a longtime fan of Barbour and is known to have a varied collection of outerwear from the brand.

As a famed outfit-repeater, we've seen the duchess don her favourites on numerous occasions, including a waxed Barbour during a 2020 visit to a farm in Northern Ireland, just before the pandemic hit and she wore the brand's Longshore Quilted Jacket during a 2019 visit to Northern Ireland.

Though not the cheapest, a Barbour jacket will last a lifetime. And with the British summer weather often unpredictable, it's worth investing in something weatherproof that can also carry you through autumn and winter, too.

To help make things easier, we've selected our top Barbour pieces in the John Lewis sale for both men and women to save you scroll time.
