Great British Bake Off winner Georgie Grasso nearly had an awkward moment after her big win - when she almost dropped the all-important trophy. The 34-year-old Welsh baker, who was visibly overwhelmed with emotion, stumbled slightly as her daughter ran towards her and jumped up to give her a cuddle.

The near miss was just one of many memorable moments from the final episode, in which Georgie’s family also featured in an earlier clip where her husband noted: "Georgina often puts everyone else first." He added how proud he was to see her moment in the spotlight.

Georgie’s winning bakes paid tribute to her Welsh roots and family life, with her final showstopper seemingly inspired by the countryside and her love for nature. After it was revealed she had won the 2024 series of the show, she exclaimed: "I did it!"

Georgie added: "I cannot believe I won it. It's just everything. It's just incredible. I cannot believe I've won the Great British Bake Off. It just means everything. I've always been so self doubtful - I've got this, I've got that wrong with me. I can't do it and make excuses.

"But I just thought for once I'm going to go for it and I'm going to put my everything into it. Working all the hours. I've sacrificed things with the kids, my family and I'm just so proud of myself because I've just proven to myself that I can do something. I am already feeling sad that I'm not coming back here."
