Anyone who is a bit of a romantic will admit that one of the most special times for a proposal is on Valentine's Day. Of course, popping the question can also be fairly pricey, which does put a bit of a dampener on the celebration.

Fortunately, Asda has a solution for those who maybe want to keep things a little affordable. The supermarket giant has restocked its viral Valentine's Day ring ahead of Friday February 14, and it will only set back lovebirds £1.

With the humble pricetag, social media users have since joked that men now "have no excuses" not to propose. Available in Asda stores now, this affordable piece of jewellery also comes in a matching red love-heart shaped box that makes it equally suitable for getting on one knee.

Despite its affordability, many women have said that it is "cute" and they "lowkey want it." TikTok user @lishalivinglife shared a video of the affordable Valentine's Day find in a video that was captioned: "Men you have no excuses, get down to Asda."

The video quickly went viral with over 370,000 views and hundreds of comments from other shoppers who were actually quite impressed with the budget ring that they wouldn't mind receiving from a partner.

Someone admitted: "Lowkey want one." Another Asda shopper agreed: "Idc if it’s £1 I just want a gift."

Another TikTok user said of the affordable ring: "Why are they lowkey cute." One other Asda shopper said: "I NEED TO GET ONE."

A few other shoppers pointed out that the £1 ring posed a suitable alternative for those who are struggling with money, yet still want to propose without having to splash out on a diamond ring. One such shopper said: "It's good for couples who are poor but still want to have a ring."

Someone else who pointed out that the gesture was about meaning, not money, said: "If I was proposed to like this I would say yes immediately it’s not about the ring it’s about the meaning."

It's not just a proposal Asda is helping lovebirds with this Valentine's Day, as the supermarket has brought back its dine-in meal deal for anyone looking to enjoy a lavish three course meal without having to book a reservation at an expensive restaurant.

Available now until Sunday, February 16, there is a selection of 47 items to choose from, allowing you to curate your own menu. Priced at just £12, it allows shoppers to bag a starter, one main, two sides, one dessert and one drink.
