Are you brave enough to rock glitter nipples?

Glitter nipples are exactly what they sound like: Glitter, on your nipples. And so far, the risqué new trend has been seen primarily on the runway.

Yves Saint Laurent’s new creative director, Anthony Vaccarello, started it all off by sending a model out with an embellished nipple at Paris Fashion Week.

Wearing a dress which covered one breast but exposed the other, Binx Walton’s silver-sequined nipple was centrepiece of the otherwise leather off-the-shoulder outfit.

Personally, we think Walton rocked it at the SS17 show - but we are talking about a professional model here. So could we rock the look - also affectionately called ‘disco tits’ - and actually pull it off?

Well, Instagrammers have taken the plunge for us and given it a go.

From boobs decorated to look like disco balls to heart-shaped embellishments, festival and holiday goers are trying it out, no holds barred.

Fashion bloggers are also backing the trend. Daisy Keens told Femail: “Contrary to being impractical or completely unnecessary, nipple pasties are a glorious alternative to bikini tops and, dare I say it, bras.”

Those of us with more um, generous busts might have spotted that glitter nipples won’t exactly provide adequate support. But hey, it does look kind of cool, right?
