While it’s not something that can be easily changed, a recent study by London’s Centre for Advanced Facial Cosmetic and Plastic Surgery found that there’s a certain shape that women are seeking out: diamond.

Not sure what a diamond face shape looks like? Picture Megan Fox. Her narrow forehead, high cheekbones, and slim face and jaw are what women are wishing for most.

The centre examined more than 1,000 patient records across the UK to see which alterations women were requesting before going under the knife. Dr. Julian De Silva attributes the high-demand face shape to the desire to appear feminine.

“The diamond is the most desirable face shape for a woman. It is incredibly feminine and elegant,” he told the Daily Mail.

The second most popular face shape is oval, according to De Silva.

The doctor also attributes the growth in face and neck lift surgeries to social media and the rise in popularity of selfies. The number of people undergoing the treatments has grown one sixth in recent years.

“Facebook facelifts are on the rise as social media creates new pressures on people to look good, particularly in their public profiles and the pictures they share with friends,” he said. “Face and neck lifts are the original facial cosmetic surgical procedures and they probably have the most dramatic impact in combating anti-aging and rejuvenating the appearance of the face.”

One third of women and one fifth of men named the pressure of looking good on social media as a main contributor to seeking surgery.

While it’s not as common for men to seek appearance-enhancing surgery, they are not excluded from the pressures of social media. For men, the square face shape of David Beckham is highly requested, featuring a broad brow and straight jawline.
