Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly break silence after arrival of baby Wilder
Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly broke their social media silence this morning for the first time since Ant's first child - son Wilder - was born earlier this week.
The pair, who share the same social media account, did their first post since the seismic news that the Geordie presenter and his wife Anne-Marie had welcomed a baby boy.
The ITV duo appeared on video taking a trip to a primary school, where they have been giving a talk to young children as "Mr Ant and Dec" and shared it to Instagram.
However, the pair failed to make reference to the fact Ant, 48, is going to be a regular at primary school soon enough himself after his son Wilder Patrick was born.
It was part of their long-term promo deal with Santander, the bank, and saw them quizzing kids on their finance know-how, with Ant so impressed with one lad that he offered to sign him up as his financial adviser.
The video came two days after Ant and 46-year-old Anne-Marie, who married in 2021, announced on Instagram that their baby boy had arrived.
Ant shared a picture of himself shirtless and cradling the newborn, writing: "Welcome to the family. Wilder Patrick McPartlin. Born, 14/05/24 at 8.54am. Baby is beautiful, Mummy’s a legend, Sisters are over the moon. Dad’s a mess."
The post, which was liked nearly 700,000 times, was remarked upon by a Who's Who of the British TV world, with Holly Willoughby writing: "Congratulations… welcome to the world Wilder… such beautiful news…"
Amanda Holden added: "Oh my gosh, this is just the most amazing news. Congratulations" while Paddy McGuinness said: "Beautiful. Lots of love to you all."
