Anne Marie breaks silence after husband Slowthai found not guilty of raping two fans after a gig
Chart-topping singer Anne-Marie has broken her silence, after her husband Slowthai was cleared of raping two women on the rooftop of a house party, following a gig. The 33-year-old mum-of-one was seen at her rapper husband’s side throughout his trial, which took place at Oxford Crown Court.
And revealing what she calls her ‘hardest year’ she has posted a series of photos, including some with her husband, on Instagram. Among the images was a polaroid of Anne Marie pregnant. Alongside it she penned the caption: "2024 the most beautiful yet hardest year of our lives. God really tryina see how strong I am hahaha.
She continued: "I miss you all and I love you all more than you’ll ever know. I have SO MUCH for you in the new year that you’ll probably be sick of me (please don’t be) have the best break if you can and see you soon." The post had been liked by thousands of her followers, including fellow singers Jessie J and former Little Mix star Jade Thirlwall.
Slowthai, 29, real name Tyron Kaymone Frampton, was charged with raping two female fans at a house party after a 2021 gig - but he alongside his co-accused Alex Blake-Walker, 27, were cleared of three counts of rape on December 16.
The Grammy-nominated artist is believed to have burst into tears when the judge delivered the verdict, while Anne-Marie, who he married in secret in Las Vegas in July 2022, was seen sighing with relief.
The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter, Seven, in February 2024, shocking fans at the time as Anne-Marie had kept her pregnancy under wraps. A source at the time claimed that their baby’s name was a nod to Anne-Marie’s ‘lucky number’ and that she even has 0707 tattooed on her because she sees them as her ‘angel numbers’.
In a rare 2023 interview, Slothai talked about his wife, sharing how their connection trumps anything else. "When you connect it doesn’t matter about any of that [celebrity],” he told Rolling Stone of their obvious common ground.
“You can talk and vent about stuff, but I think the best thing is when you come home removing all that stuff and you don’t even think that you do anything else. Or you don’t even really need to talk about it.”
