American TikToker blasts 'gross' British food she has tried since living in UK
An American living in the UK has opened up about the British foods she just can't enjoy, despite having spent 10 years in the country. While enjoying life in Yorkshire, the TikToker, known as Yorkshire Peach, revealed there are some food items that she still can't accept.
The differences between American and British cuisines are well-known, and what some may find delicious, others may deem “gross".In a TikTok post, Yorkshire Peach shared her thoughts on several popular British dishes, admitting she simply "can't do it."
Among the items she can't bring herself to try are pork pies, curry sauce on chips, and prawn sandwiches, the Mirror reports. The infamous pork pie tops her list of British foods she just can’t stomach.

“That pork pie, I can’t do it. They’re not nice. And some people eat it cold,” she said. Recalling a particularly memorable experience, Yorkshire Peach described being served a pork pie with mushy peas by a friend, calling the combination “diabolical.”
Next on her list were prawn sandwiches. While she enjoys prawns and sandwiches individually, she just can’t get behind the combination. "They just don’t go together," she explained, adding that the taste was "just so bad."
Lastly, she took on the beloved British dish of curry sauce on chips. Despite its popularity, this combination failed to win her over.
“French fries with this on it,” she said, expressing her distaste for the dish. Though she enjoys chips with various sauces, curry sauce on chips is a step too far for this TikToker.
The two-minute video has quickly gone viral, racking up over 300,000 views and sparking a lively debate between Brits and Americans in the comments. One Brit defended: “I feel attacked at the prawn sandwich, they are amazing,” while another joked: “Might have to revoke your Yorkshire card.”
A third person commented: “As a Brit, I was with you until the curry sauce. Curry sauce is iconic and belongs with everything, in my opinion.”
However, others agreed with her critique, dismissing the dishes as unappealing. One commenter wrote: “I’m English and 100% agree with all of this. I wouldn’t eat any of these items!”, while another one added: “I agree so much, especially about the pork pie.”
