The holidays are coming - and Amanda Holden's taking note. The 51 year old slipped into something a little less comfortable last night that would be perfectly at home at any festive party.

The Heart radio presenter, 51, wore a slinky teal asymmetric dress featuring a corset bodice to host the Variety Club Showbusiness Awards in London. Gathered at the waist and slashed at the thigh, the bespoke Suzanne Neville design also featured cut-out detailing on the neckline to reveal a hint of cleavage, soft rouching on the skirt and a one-shoulder design.

Holden kept her accessories simple, pairing glittering earrings with a matching ear cuff, while her towering heels featured an elegant buckle.

It seems Willoughby is having something of a velvet moment of late, having also recently shared another go-to velvet outfit with fans for the festive season.

Earlier this month the TV presenter posted pictures of her in a gorgeous velvet suit by Marks & Spencer on Instagram that would be perfect for any Christmas event.

“There’s a velvet theme today…” wrote Willoughby, speaking about her velvet Beulah dress worn on This Morning, that she had posted on her page as part of her daily #hwstyle series earlier in the day.

“Let’s all take a moment for this gorgeous velvet suit of dreams,” she continued. “It would make a stunning addition to your party-season wardrobe.”

Both Willoughby and Holden are regularly praised by fans for their sartorial choices, with Holden in particular opting to prove age is just a number when it comes to style.

Earlier this year the radio presenter revealed that she has no plans to tone done her revealing looks.

After turning 50 last year, the star vowed to be wilder than ever, explaining that she'd splashed out on sexy outfits such as thigh-high boots and latex dresses to celebrate her milestone birthday.

"When I hit 50 I invested in a pair of thigh-high boots and I thought, ‘This is how I’m going to live the second half of my life’," she told The Sun.

"On my birthday I also did a photoshoot where I was half naked on top of a birthday cake.

"I was never going to suddenly get out the twinset and pearls, unless I wore the twinset and pearls with a miniskirt and those thigh boots."

The radio DJ also had a message for anyone who questions her daring outfits.

"I would never listen to anybody who’s going to try to tell me how to behave or how I should dress," she added.

“I’d say bog off to any man or woman — or they — that say that about me.

“I feel very sad for people who think like that, because life should be enjoyable," the star continued.

“I feel like I’m grabbing life by the balls more than I ever did before.”
